Mansfield Building Society chooses Alzheimer’s Society for 2025 fundraising
Mansfield Building Society colleagues have chosen to support Alzheimer’s Society, for a third consecutive year, as its Charity Partner for 2025.

The Alzheimer’s Society first became Mansfield’s chosen Charity Partner in 2023, when colleagues raised £6,000.
Sticking with the charity, colleagues further raised over £7,500 in 2024. Along with some traditional favourites, colleagues have added some new fundraising activities over the years including taking on the Mansfield 10k, and Commercial Development Executive, Richard Crisp, even braving his first ever skydive!
All funds raised are ring-fenced for Nottinghamshire where more than 12,700 people estimated to be living with dementia.
Dementia is a term used to describe a set of symptoms that over time can affect memory, problem-solving, language and behaviour. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia but there are many others. Anyone affected can be supported by Alzheimer’s Society through some of the hardest and most frightening times, to improve their lives and help to avoid crisis.
Alice Grewcock, Regional Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society in Nottinghamshire, said:
“One in three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime. Dementia devastates lives, but it’s not an inevitable part of ageing. There are around a million people in the UK living with dementia, with more than 74,300 of them living in the East Midlands. The advances we are currently seeing in dementia research can and will lead to earlier more accurate diagnosis and treatments, but we must act now.
A donation of £500 could provide 50 people with their first support call with one of our expert Dementia Advisers. Alzheimer’s Society couldn’t do the work we do without amazing fundraisers, like Mansfield Building Society. Their innovative fundraising events and all-out effort have already had a significant and lasting impact on people living with dementia.”
Vickie Preston, Head of HR, commented:
“2023 and 2024 saw colleagues work extremely hard to raise a superb £13,500 for Alzheimer’s Society. Fundraising events, ranging from serving breakfast cobs and Christmas dinners to taking part in a Ride to Everest, saw colleagues attracting sponsorship for their efforts. We look forward to championing Alzheimer’s Society again throughout 2025.”
