Paul Wheeler

Chief Executive and Director

Paul is the Chief Executive of the Society and assumed this role in April 2020. He has been with the Society for a number of years having joined as Finance Director in 2011. Paul has extensive senior leadership experience having operated as Deputy CEO at the Society as well as previously holding senior roles at Next plc, Alliance & Leicester plc and East Midlands Development Agency. Paul is a Chartered Accountant and a strong believer in mutuality, considering it possible to offer quality products and competitive rates whilst giving both financial and physical support to their local community

Dan Jones

Finance Director

Dan is a Chartered Accountant with significant finance experience, having previously held senior management positions at Capital One and Experian plc. He joined the Society in 2019 and is passionate about the mutual model and the way it can serve its local community. He believes finance should be centred on improving people’s lives.

Richard Crisp

Commercial Development Executive

Richard joined the Society in July 2015 to lead the Society’s sales, marketing and customer engagement strategy. As well as over 20 years experience of working in retail financial services he has also delivered on customer centric marketing programmes both on and offline. Richard is a true customer champion and advocate of mutuality having previously spent over 13 years working for a top ten society.

David Newby

Mortgage Executive

Dave joined the Society in March 2017 and has a wealth of mortgage experience after working at a variety of regional building societies and high street banks. Dave leads the Mortgage Customer Services team to help ensure that all mortgage applications are processed smoothly and efficiently. His lending experience is also fully utilised as a key member of our Credit Committee.

Jill Watson

Risk & Compliance Executive and Money Laundering Reporting Officer

Jill joined the Society in December 2012 as Risk and Compliance Executive and Money Laundering Reporting Officer following a 22 year career working on risk related matters. Jill is responsible for ensuring that the Society maintains a strong governance culture supported by risk management and compliance monitoring processes.

Mike Taylor

Head of Products and Savings

Mike joined the Society in February 2009 having previously worked within Sales & Marketing roles for local building societies since 1990. Mike leads the Product and Savings Team, and he oversees the development of the Society’s savings and mortgage products and our Savings Operations.  Mike is also a Trustee of The Mansfield Building Society’s Charitable Trust.

Vickie Preston

Human Resources Manager

Vickie joined the Society in June 2014 as Human Resources Manager. Vickie is responsible for devising and implementing strategies and policies relating to the management of our employees to ensure we maintain a friendly, reliable and efficient service.

Brian Seddons

Information Systems Manager

Brian joined the Society in 1997 after spending 11 years working for a software development company. Brian leads the Information Systems Departments and is responsible for all the technology used by the Society including the computer systems and telephones.
