Mansfield wins Best Self-build Lender award

Mansfield Building Society has been named Best Self-build Lender at the 2025 BuildIt Awards.

The Mansfield, a long-established supporter of the self-build sector, has continued to adapt to meet the needs of home builders through our impressive product range, innovative approach and refreshing attitude to modern methods of construction.

The Society’s self-build range includes both traditional stage payment products and our innovative advanced stage payment “Accelerator” products distributed exclusively through BuildStore and BuildLoan.

To make the self-building journey easier, the Society also works on a Loan-to-Cost (LTC) basis, recognising the limitations of using the Loan-to-Value (LTV) to establish the true value of a property mid-construction. This positive approach really helps put the borrower in control by providing funds when they’re required, throughout the build, rather than waiting for key build phases to complete.

Mansfield has effectively supported self-build since our formation in 1870 with our first ever mortgage. However, our Accelerator products, flexible drawdown process and accommodating criteria really are game changers for the modern self-build sector.
