Shared Ownership Mortgages with No Credit Scoring
Shared ownership is designed to help people who cannot afford to purchase a home outright. With shared ownership you buy a share of the property and pay rent on the remaining portion usually to a Housing Association.
At The Mansfield Building Society, all of our mortgage applications are individually underwritten on a case by case basis by our mortgage team. We don’t do credit scoring because we believe it’s fairer that way.
We offer a choice of two shared ownership mortgages:
Our shared ownership mortgage products are available on residential
owner-occupied property (excluding flats) in Nottinghamshire,
Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire,
Northamptonshire, Rutland, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire,
Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire or Warwickshire. They are available for qualifying applicants purchasing property on a shared ownership basis from pre-approved Housing Associations registered with the Homes and Communities Agency.
Housing Associations are non-profit making organisations providing and managing homes for rent or sale for people in housing need. Housing Associations registered with the Homes and Communities Agency are legally known as registered social landlords.
Up to four people can become joint owners but all prospective owners must individually and jointly meet the eligibility criteria.
