Board of Directors

Joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in May 2006 following a successful 28 year career with international accounting firm KPMG. Nigel joined KPMG in 1977 as a qualified chartered accountant, becoming a partner in 1981. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Prior to joining the Board as a Non-Executive Director in December 2002, Richard was Area Corporate Manager for a major bank looking after businesses in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire. He is a Director of Stopford Consulting Ltd providing financial and strategic planning and advice.

Gev joined the Society in September 2011. Gev has extensive financial services experience having held senior positions within the financial services divisions of Saga, Asda and Marks & Spencers as well as senior roles at the National and Provincial Building Society. Gev is also a Qualified Accountant.

Paul joined the Society in July 2011 after a successful career with East Midlands Development Agency. Prior to joining EMDA Paul spent 11 years with a national bank acquiring a wealth of finance industry knowledge and experience. He is responsible for all aspects of the Society’s finances and, as Society Secretary, for all areas of corporate governance.

Robert was appointed to the Board in May 2011. He is managing director of commercial property consultant Innes England which has a number of offices across the East Midlands. He has worked within the property industry for more than 35 years and has extensive experience acting for corporate occupiers throughout the United Kingdom and specialises in valuation, landlord and tenant and property disposals.

Robert was appointed to the Board as a non-executive director in January 2012. He is a director of Nottinghamshire based Shepherd Direct, a group of businesses with interests in residential valuations, financial advice and property lettings. Robert has worked in financial services for 25 years and was formerly managing director at Virgin Money and a director at West Bromwich Building Society and Mortgage Force.

Alison was appointed to the Board as a non-executive director in February 2013. Alison is an experienced business leader in both the financial services and charitable/not for profit sectors. Alison is currently a Deputy Managing Director of Ikano Financial Services Ltd, a position that incorporates the roles of Finance Director and Company Secretary. Alison’s previous roles include former Non-Executive Director and Trustee of the Woodland Trust.

Jeremy was appointed to the Board as a non-executive director in February 2013. Jeremy is a Chartered Accountant currently working as a self employed consultant. Other roles include Director/Trustee for four Leeds based charities including Leeds City Credit Union. Jeremy's previous roles include Director of Personal Current Accounts with Halifax and Bank of Scotland. Prior to this he held senior roles within Asda and Boots.
