Chosen Charity 2010

Macmillan Cancer Support Group was the beneficiary of The Mansfield Building Society's Sports & Social Committee's fund raising activities throughout 2009. Their efforts raised over £2,000 which was used to provide support to local people affected by cancer.

The committee have been so impressed with the Group's activities in the community that they have decided to continue their support for 2010.

To boost our fundraising efforts all our branches are provided with collecting boxes for the benefit of any customers who may also wish to donate to this worthy cause. We are proud of our fundraising success and the thermometer on public display in our Principal Office means that we can always tell whether we are on course to meet our yearly target.

Helena Curtis, Fundraising Manager for Nottinghamshire said, "We are obviously thrilled to hear the news because we rely on our supporters for 99% of our income. We've set ourselves an impressive ambition of reaching and improving the lives of everyone living with cancer and it would be impossible to achieve this without this kind of support. Thank you to everyone for their donations throughout 2009 and we are delighted to have been chosen once again during 2010."
